Plasma nitriding

Plasma nitriding is a thermochemical heat treatment process. It hardens the edge layer of a component by enriching it with nitrogen.

vacuum hardening

Vacuum hardening is a process used for the heat treatment of steels. It is used for components that are sensitive to warping, such as precision tools and moulded parts.

Soft annealing

Soft annealing refers to a high-temperature heat treatment applied to metallic materials such as steel, copper, or brass.

Normal annealing

Normal annealing refers to a specific form of heat treatment of steel. It is also known as normalising or heat refining.

Vacuum brazing

Vacuum brazing is a high-quality joining process that is carried out under vacuum conditions at temperatures between 800 °C and 1,150 °C.

PACD – Plasma Assisted Carbon Diffusion

PACD, or Plasma Assisted Carbon Diffusion is used for the surface hardening of metals, especially stainless steel.

stress-free annealing

Stress-free annealing is a heat treatment used in metalworking. It is applied to reduce tensions introduced into the microstructure by cold forming, welding, or uneven cooling, for example.

Annealing

In material science, annealing is a term used to describe a process for the heat treatment of metal. During annealing, the component is initially heated up, then heated through and finally cooled.

Solution annealing

Solution annealing uses heat treatment to create the most homogeneous structure possible in metallic alloys . This is achieved by diffusion of the alloy elements.

Precipitation hardening

Precipitation hardening is a heat treatment that uses diffusion to increase the hardness and strength of metals.

Intermediate annealing

Intermediate annealing refers to an intermediate step in steel processing. The workpiece is heated to relieve stresses in the microstructure. At the same time, hardness is reduced and elasticity is increased.

Tempering

Tempering is a treatment used in steel processing. It involves heat treatment of the material and is designed to achieve certain pre-defined properties.

Deep cryogenic treatment

The deep cryogenic treatment of steel is used to reduce and eliminate residual austenite after hardening. For this purpose, the material is cooled down to a temperature between-90 °C and -196 °C in order to convert the residual austenite to martensite.

Metallography

The term metallography designates laboratory investigations for the quality assurance of metals - an indispensable step in the processing and manufacturing of metallic components.

Hardness test

In the metal industry, this test is used to determine the hardness of a material. This makes it possible to derive such properties as strength, toughness, and wear resistance.

Material analysis

Material analysis is a rapid, non-destructive testing method used for quality assurance in the metal industry.
